What this site does with your answers

The scan's five answers are scored in your browser, by the page itself. Your result opens on its type's page, and the part of that page's address after the # carries the type's code and your five answers, so a reload shows the same result. The Share buttons share a page with the type alone, never your answers.

Your answers leave your device only if you sign up for the newsletter after taking the scan, as the next section says.

The newsletter

If you sign up, your email address goes to beehiiv, the service that sends the Your Career Type newsletter. The form on the page passes it, with the address of the page you signed up on, through this site's server straight to beehiiv; this site does not keep it. beehiiv holds it on our behalf, as our processor, for the newsletter only.

If this browser keeps your scan result, it goes with your address: your five answers, your type and its family, the version of the scan you took, and the date. The form says so under itself when it will. We use it to send you what fits your type, and so that the full test can start from your answers when it opens. A newer result replaces the older one.

Every newsletter has a link to leave, and leaving deletes you from the list. beehiiv's own privacy policy applies to the emails.

If our form cannot reach beehiiv, it offers beehiiv's own signup page instead, with your address filled in. That page is beehiiv's, and beehiiv's privacy policy and cookies apply there.

Cookies and storage

The site sets no cookies of its own. It remembers three things in your browser's own storage: the colour theme you choose, which Read more sections you opened on a type page during your visit, and your last scan result, your type and your five answers, so that when you come back every button to the scan takes you to your result instead. The result stays in this browser until you take the scan again or choose Forget my result on this device, under your result or here. The first two never leave your device; the scan result leaves it only if you sign up.

The pages and their fonts are served from this site; no font or script is loaded from Google or any advertising network.

Counting visits

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you; like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address to deliver the pages.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. For the newsletter, the quickest way is the link in any email, or a reply to it. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
